WELCOME
to the new and vastly improved msfame.com. We want to become your go-to destination for news about the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum and for information on the Magnolia State’s incredibly rich sports heritage..
This will be a website updated on a much more frequent basis and will include my writings, plus those of veteran journalist Orley Hood and many guest contributors, including Hall of Famers themselves..
Much of the content will be about Mississippi’s sports history. But much also will be about current events. Often, we hope to link the two together. After all, as Faulkner told us, “The past is never dead. It’s not even past.”
The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum exists to tell — and preserve — the stories of these Mississippi’s greatest athletes and coaches, who are some of the world’s greatest athletes and coaches. Question: What other state can boast the leading scorer and receiver in NFL history (Jerry Rice), the leading passer in NFL history (Brett Favre), the second leading rusher (Walter Payton) and the patriarch of the first family of football (Archie Manning)?
Answer: Only the Magnolia State
Obviously, we have a splendid story to tell. The goal of this website is to further cause.
So, please, bookmark this page and tell your friends. It will be worth your while. We promise.
