Ole Miss (1950-1952)

• Red Grange All-America Team (’52)

• All-SEC (’51, ‘52)

• Quarterback of Ole Miss’s first undefeated team (regular season) and first Sugar Bowl team (’52)

• Led Rebels to upset win over defending national champion Maryland, snapping their 22-game unbeaten streak and propelling Ole Miss into the Top 10 for the first time (’52)

 

Did You Know?

At Greenwood High School, Jimmy Lear was captain of the football, basketball, baseball, and track teams. He was named All-Big 8 and All-Southern for football, and All-Big 8 for basketball. In track, Lear set state records in the 100, 220, and 440.
