• Led SWAC 4 years and the nation in yardage in receptions (’60)

• Most Valuable Player in the All-American Bowl (’63)

• Played in the North-South game and made both touchdowns scored in the game (’62)

• Played in the Chicago All Star game (’63)

• Held collegiate pass receiving record: caught 60 passes for 1,229 yards

• Inducted into the Jackson State Sports Hall of Fame (’78)


Pro Football Career

Baltimore Colts (1963-1969)

• All-Pro (’67, ‘68)

• Pro Bowl (’67, ‘68)

• Played in Super Bowl III (’69)

• Leading receiver with 43 catches for 646 yards and 3 touchdowns (’69)

Miami Dolphins (1970-1971)
