2023 Howell and Gillom Trophies Presented by MBCI and Pearl River Resort on March 6th

It is the time of year when the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame recognizes the most outstanding players in women’s and men’s basketball among the four-year colleges in our state.  This year the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and the Pearl River Resort will sponsor both the Gillom Trophy for the women and the Howell Trophy for the men. 

We will host a luncheon and program March 6^th at 11:30 a.m. in the VIP Room at the Golden Moon Casino. Trophy namesake Peggie Gillom-Granderson will be the featured guest along with Hall of Fame sportswriter Rick Cleveland. The finalists and their coaches are invited to attend the event and you will have a chance to greet them and take photos.

The Hall of Fame and Museum will be undergoing some remodeling during this time period and Pearl River Resort has been kind enough to offer the use of their facilities for the event. They are also offering special room rates ($69 plus tax) if your group would like to play golf or enjoy the gaming opportunities while staying at the Resort, and all you need do is reference Room Block S3MSH23 when making your reservation.
