A new parking lot for your Hall of Fame

Over the years, driving into your Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum’s parking lot had become like driving through a mine field.
There were potholes, sinkholes and the lines had disappeared like the chalk down the first base line by the sixth of a little league baseball game.
We needed help. Stump Russell, the former Murrah and Ole Miss football standout, came to the rescue. Russell Enterprises, Stump’s paving company, resurfaced and re-painted our lot. They do fine work as you can see.
Stump learned the value of hard work from the best, Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame coach Jack Carlisle, at Murrah.
Weeks ago, Stump fixed several potholes so that we could have our Farm Bureau Watermelon Classic and not lose any runners or walkers in the process.
Now, he’s finished the job. We’ve got a new parking for our biggest weekend of the year, the BancorpSouth Induction Weekend. You’ll actually be able to see where to park, and it won’t be in a hole.
So if you see Stump, thank him. And if you need paving work done of any kind, he’s your guy.
