Farm Bureau Watermelon Classic coming up!
Posted on: May 30,2013
The Farm Bureau Watermelon Classic is a great way to start off your July 4 holiday weekend. A family tradition for many, the 5K run/walk will start at 7:30 a.m. at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
A one mile fun run (for all ages) is also offered followed by a tot trot (for ages 3-and-under). Watermelon, fruits and beverages will be provided after the race. There will be three water stops along the race route. Over 200 awards will be distributed.
Interested individuals can register on-line at www.racesonline.com. If you prefer, this year you may register online and mail in your check. Those wanting to participate as a team or take advantage of the family rate must register with a paper form. The form can be printed by clicking HERE or stop by Fleet Feet Sports or Baptist Health Complexes. You may register in person at the Hall of Fame and Museum during visiting hours (10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday).
The race is conducted by Best Times of Southaven, MS.
Other corporate sponsors include Baptist Health Systems, Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center and Fleet Feet Sports
The Farm Bureau Watermelon Classic, traditionally one of Mississippi’s largest road races, will serve as the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) state championship five-kilometer run. The race benefits the non-profit Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
