Holy Toledo, this week's picks are in…
Posted on: September 11,2014
My upset pick of the week last week was Toledo over Missouri. It was an upset all right. It really upset me, but not as much as the other game I missed: Atlanta’s victory over the Saints. That one sickened me. Still 10 and 2 isn’t all bad. Neither is 18-4 on the season. Let’s try again:
Ole Miss 38, ULL 13 — Mark Hudspeth is a really good football coach, but the talent differential is huge here.
State 34, South Alabama 17 — Strange road game for the Bulldogs and I keep hearing a lot of people say this one could be an upset. Don’t think so. The talent difference is huge.
Alabama 48, Southern Miss 0 — This would mean USM covered. Believe it or not.
Missouri 31, UCF 21 — No, I am not going to pick Mizzou to get upset again. Not this week. Not at home.
Georgia 31, South Carolina 24 — Georgia appears to be the better team.
Vanderbilt 24, UMass 14 — Vandy is a 16-point favorite, which means Umass must be horrid.
Florida 41, Kentucky 14 — Wildcats fall from the ranks of the unbeaten.
Oklahoma 42, Tennessee 20 — Sooners might just be the best team out there.
Texas A & M 49, Rice 17 — Another 750 yards or so of total offense.
Texas Tech 24, Arkansas 20 — Coaches hate that trip to Lubbock. Tough place to play.
JSU 27, Tennessee State 26 — Harold Jackson State goes to 3-0. Obviously, life begins at 68.
Alcorn State 48, Louisiana College 6 — Alcorn was so close last week. This one won’t be close after the first quarter.
Alabama State 34, Mississippi Valley State 10 — Alabama State knocked off Tennessee State last week.
BYU 38, Houston 20 — This one’s tonight, and BYU apparently is for real.
Saints 31, Browns 20 — Don’t know which quarterback the Browns will play but I do know his name will not be Drew Brees.
