Sanderson Farms and the Sanderson Farms Championship to Sponsor Induction Weekend

The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum is pleased to announce that Sanderson Farms and the Sanderson Farms Championship will be the title sponsors for the Annual Induction Weekend. The 2017 Induction will take place on August 4th and 5th.
“We are thrilled to have one of Mississippi’s finest companies and our state’s only PGA Tour Championship as sponsors of this event. Here at the Hall of Fame we honor the world-class athletes this state has produced, and it was our goal to have a sponsor that also represents this great state,” according to Johnny Ray, President of the Mississippi Sports Foundation Board of Directors.
Lampkin Butts, President and COO of Sanderson Farms said, “We are excited to take part in an event that highlights the accomplishments of Mississippi athletes, and encourages our young, aspiring athletes to work hard and follow their dreams.”
The weekend begins with the Drawdown of Champions on Friday evening at the Hall of Fame and is followed by the Meet the Inductees autograph session at the museum on Saturday morning. The Induction banquet will be held at the Jackson Convention Complex in downtown Jackson beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a reception and dinner at 7 p.m.
The 2017 Induction class includes: Eugenia Conner of Ole Miss, Leslie Frazier of Alcorn State, Marcus Dupree of Philadelphia, MSU and MLB alum Jay Powell, long-time JSU baseball coach and athletic director Bob Braddy and sportswriter Rick Cleveland.

The Sanderson Farms Championship is an annual stop on the PGA TOUR hosted by Century Club Charities, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to promote the game of golf for the benefit of charity. The tournament’s primary beneficiary is Friends of Children’s Hospital. The tournament has been part of the PGA TOUR schedule since 1968 and is now in its seventh year as a part of the FedExCup. Sanderson Farms (NASDAQ:SAFM), the nation’s third largest poultry producer based in Laurel, Miss., is the title sponsor.
