Limited playing spots remain available for the Kent Hull Memorial Golf Tournament, set for Thursday, April 24th at Live Oaks Golf Club.
The tournament, which has a four-man scramble format, has individual spots open at $200 or team sponsorships available at $800. To reserve a spot, call Terry Godfrey at 601-898-1017 or email him at terry@airflosales.com.
The tournament has been established by Friends of Kent Hull, which sponsors the Kent Hull Trophy (which goes to the most outstanding offensive line in the state).
Proceeds from the tournament will go to fund the annual award and also to the Blair E. Batson UMC Candlelighters. The original and continuing goals of the UMC Candlelighters are to help families of children with cancer deal with the many adjustments and stresses brought about by the child’s diagnosis and to provide support for the clinical and research aspects of the Children’s Cancer Program at UMC.
Kent Hull, the late Mississippi State and NFL great, was a long-time supporter of Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital and Candlelighters.
Said Terry Godfrey, one of the organizers of the Hull Memorial Tournament, “Kent did so much for so many, and we have now found a way to honor his memory for years to come with the Kent Hull Trophy. We are making a long-term commitment to continue this award. We established this annual golf tournament to fund the award and to help raise money for Candlelighters, one of Kent’s favorite causes.”
The tournament is limited to the first 40 teams that enter. There will be 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Shotgun starts.
Gabe Jackson of Mississippi State won the first Kent Hull Trophy.
