Christmas came early Tuesday for The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum and the thousands of children who will visit the shrine in the coming years.
John Langcuster, vice-president agency/sales for State Farm Insurance Companies, presented an $8,0000 grant from from State Farm®, Mississippi’s largest home and auto insurer.
The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum plans to use the funding to assist with the foundation’s student educational programs. This includes program materials and exhibits that will teach students the value of exercise and overall fitness.
“State Farm is committed to helping young people find innovative ways to learn the benefits of leading healthier lives.” says State Farm spokesman Roszell Gadson.
Said Rick Cleveland, executive director of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum: “We have just updated our participatory sports station for children, where they can play baseball, soccer, football and basketball in a stadium-like situation.
“We have plans to expand our children’s area for more educational exhibits showing the value of exercise to a person’s overall health. We appreciate State Farm’s giving back to the community and we will put this money to good use.”
