Tools for Teachers
Free teacher time in the LeFleur Museum District!
JACKSON, MISS. – The LeFleur Museum District (LMD) is hosting educators state-wide, at no cost, as they gear up for the fall semester at Tools for Teachers on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Teachers will be able to travel to four museums (Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum, the Mississippi Children’s Museum, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum) to receive information about field trips, professional development and programs at each museum.
“Each museum in the LeFleur District provides a unique opportunity for teachers and students to experience, learn, and wonder” said Andrea Patterson, Marketing Director at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum. “Tools for Teachers will be a time for our state’s educators to get a glimpse of what a field trip would be like for their students.”
This event is free for teachers statewide with valid school identification and includes complimentary admission of up to two children to each museum with the exception of the Mississippi Children’s Museum where up to two children will receive a 50% discount.
There will be vendors from the Jackson area and giveaways for teachers during the event. A drawing will give a grand prize package to a teacher who visits all four museums.
For questions or more information about Tools for Teachers or class field trips to the MS Sports Hall of Fame, please contact Andrea Patterson, apatterson@msfame.liquidcreative.net.
