- Drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 10th round of 1995 MLB Amateur Draft on June 1, 1995, signed on July 8, 1995
- MLB Debut on June 3, 1997, vs. New York Yankees
- Recorded his first major league hit off Tom Gordon which plunked off green monster in Fenway Park
- Hit first major league home run on June 25, 1997, on the road against Cal Eldred of Milwaukee Brewers
Arizona Diamondbacks
- Drafted by Arizona Diamondbacks from the Baltimore Orioles as the 45th pick in the 1997 MLB Expansion Draft
- While batting .395 in June, 1999, he was diagnosed with degenerative bone in his left wrist called Keinboks disease. In his honor, Diamondbacks players and coaches displayed his number on the side of their caps. He overcame the injury, participated in spring training in 2000, and played for 10 more seasons in MLB.
New York Yankees
- Traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks with Jon-Mark Sprowl (minors) and Bret Prinz to the New York Yankees for Raul Mondesi and cash on July 29, 2003
- Finished the season with 2003 AL championship and played in the World Series against the Florida Marlins who defeated the Yankees 4-2
