Doug Elmore ran for 51 yards and a touchdown on his very first play for Ole Miss. With a 9-0 lead over Kentucky and only a few minutes left to play, Coach Johnny Vaught sent in the sophomore quarterback with instructions to run out the clock. When Elmore took the snap and plunged forward on a quarterback sneak, he suddenly found an opening and took off for paydirt.
