Pat Wilson, who served as Mississippi’s Adjutant General from 1947 to 1964, was a much-decorated veteran of both World Wars, earning the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Battle Stars, Crown of Italy, and the National Guard Distinguished Service Medal.
