• Attended Weir High School and lettered in football and baseball. Quarterback on the football team and pitcher on the baseball team.
• Played baseball at Holmes Community College. Considered attending Mississippi State University but signed a professional contract after the Astros selected him in the 23rdround of the 1996 MLB Draft. James Farrar was the scout that signed him for Houston.
• Spent three seasons in the Gulf Coast League and NY-Penn League before joining the Midwest League in 1999. Went 13-4 with 2 complete games.
• Started the 2000 season at High A Kissimmee of the Florida State League before a promotion to AA Round Rock. Oswalt went 11-4 with a 1.94 ERA and was named a Baseball America All Star. Selected as Astros Minor League Player of the Year.
• Selected to Team USA to participate in the Sydney Summer Olympics. He pitched the semi-final game for the USA and they won the Gold Medal.
• Started five games for the AAA New Orleans Zephyrs in 2001. Had a 2-3 record when promoted to the majors. Went 14-3 with 3 complete games for won first place in the NL Central Division. Finished 2nd in the Rookie of the Year voting to Albert Pujols
• Won 19 games for the 2nd place Astros in 2002. NL Pitcher of the Month for August.
• Was one of six pitcher that combined to no-hit the New York Yankees in 2003. Injuries limited Oswalt to a 10-5 mark for the season.
• 2004 first of back to back 20 win seasons going 20-10. Finished third in the voting for Cy Young Award.
• Led the team to the World Series vs. the Chicago White Sox. Went 20-12 and made the NL All-Star team. Finished 4th in the Cy Young balloting. Was the MVP of the NL Division Series vs. Cardinals
• Went 15-8, 14-7, and 17-10 2006 thru 2008.
• 2009 Played for the US in the World Baseball Classic
• 2010 started the year with Houston going 6-12 before being traded to Philadelphia. Went 7-1 for the Phillies and pitched in the post-season.
• 2011 went 9-10 for the Eastern Division Champion Phillies. Took a leave of absence when tornadoes hit his home area of Mississippi.
• Pitched for the Rangers in 2012 and Rockies in 2013 to end his career.
Honors: Three time NL All-Star, MVP of the NL Division Playoffs in 2005
